Annual CBASS symposium to be held virtually on March 27
CLEMSON – The Clemson Biological Sciences Annual Student Symposium (CBASS) will be held virtually on March 27.
The event can be accessed on a self-enrolled Canvas page and will use Zoom breakout rooms for scheduled presentations and talks.
If you would like to participate, you are invited to submit a presentation/poster. CBASS welcomes all undergrads, graduate students, and postdocs involved in research with a life sciences component to participate. You do not have to be a biology student to participate.
The deadline for registration is Friday, March 5, at 11:59 p.m. The form to register for the poster and/or oral session can be accessed at gocbass.weebly.com. You can return to the site and edit your submission at any time before the deadline. If you have any questions, please email the CBASS committee at [email protected].
Kursten Anderson, a member of the CBASS planning committee, says her favorite aspect of the event is “getting to see individuals from all science backgrounds presenting their science in a laid back and comfortable environment. Some students are getting to present for their first time ever; it’s important that they are in a welcoming environment.”
CBASS will take place virtually on Saturday, March 27, and will include two sessions: a morning poster session by undergrads, graduate students and postdocs; and an afternoon lightning talks session by undergrads, graduate students and postdocs.
Posters must be no larger than 3 feet by 4 feet and can be in either portrait or landscape orientation. Oral presentations will be done in a “Lightning Talk” format with 5 minutes per talk followed by 2 minutes for questions.
Awards will be given for graduate oral, graduate poster, undergrad oral and undergrad poster presentations.
Graduate students and faculty members are encouraged to volunteer to judge talks and posters. If you would like to volunteer, please visit https://gocbass.weebly.com/.
