Sam Gjormand was practically born into baseball. Growing up around her father, Pudge, a baseball coach in Northern Virginia, she recalls her earliest moments around the game beginning when she was just two days old. From the start, Gjormand always wanted to be involved. Whether it was being around the team or assisting her dad on the field, she knew she belonged on a baseball field.
